My new book! All $$ for Food Banks Canada

My new book! All $$ for Food Banks Canada

Together, let’s help our fellow citizens in need. #canada

So, I wrote a book. All proceeds are going towards Food Banks Canada’s urgent $150M appeal to combat food insecurity and support the well-being of Canadians as this pandemic continues to roll on.

Too many Canadians are faced with health impacting food insecurity; over 30% of Canadians are worried their food will run out before their next pay cheque. And more than 20% of Canadians are living in a food-insecure household, unable to feed their children, miss work due to mental health stress, and more, have to decide whether to pay the bills or buy food. (Stats Canada, 2020).

In our Canada? We can and must change this course.

My grandmother died in April 2020 during the thick of the pandemic. I’ve been replicating her cherished recipes to work through the grief. Sharing good food with family and friends was something my grandmother loved very much. She also loved Canada so fiercely - a country that gave her so much.

That’s why all dollars collected for my new cookbook are donated to Food Banks Canada in her honour (due to circumstances, we weren’t able to offer her a proper funeral) so her spirit and love of feeding other people continues on.

Enjoy my Nonna’s traditional cooking straight from her kitchen. Your donation will feed so many Canadians duing this unbelievable time.

Thank you for making a donation to Food Banks Canada, helping citizens in need during the COVID-19 pandemic and always.

As you bring the flavours in this book to life, snap a photo and share on social media with the hashtag #nonnama and tag me on Instagram (@epiacono).

I wish you good health, happiness, and well-being.
